Dr M V English
Dr English joined the practice in August 2002 having spent several years as a GP in Whitehaven. She is the practice lead for prescribing, dispensing and referrals.
Wendy joined the practice in 2008. She is a Nurse Practitioner and independent prescriber. She has worked in general practice since 1999 managing a range of acute and chronic illnesses. Before working in general practice she was a Specialist Urology nurse.
Jackie joined the practice in 2011. She has a wide experience of nursing having spent several years as a paediatric nurse in West Cumberland Hospital and then a number of years as a practice nurse and community respiratory nurse. She has a special interest in respiratory diseases.
Louise joined the practice in 2011. Her role covers most aspects of practice nursing including taking blood, ECGs, BP monitoring, ear syringing, dressings, suture removals and cervical cytology. She also has a special interest in diabetes care.
Health Care Assistant
Pam joined the practice in 2011. Her role covers BP monitoring, taking bloods and ECGs.
Jane joined the practice as Practice Manager in July 2007. She has worked in the NHS locally since September 1990. She works with all members of the practice team to ensure the smooth-running of the practice.

Melissa joined the practice as Medicines Manager in 2013. In this role she aims to improve patient satisfaction with prescriptions and improve quality and safety of prescribing. She works actively to improve dosage instructions and align prescriptions. She also manages the Medicines Service provided by the practice to ensure prescriptions are issued and dispensed efficiently.
Eileen has been with the practice since 1991. Eileen works in an administrative role. She is responsible for purchasing supplies, maintaining stores, constructing appointment books, and handling insurance and medical documents.
Receptionist / Practice Administrator
Yvonne joined the practice in April 2005 following the merger with Dr Mort's surgery. She had worked at Dr Mort's surgery since 1996. Yvonne's working time is split between reception and administration. In the latter she is responsible for patient registration, pathology messaging and handling insurance and medical documents.
Barbara types all correspondence for the Doctors/Nurses and liaises with hospitals regarding special appointments and investigations. She is the main contact if you have a query about an e-referral (Choose and Book) appointment.
Margaret has been with the practice since 1987. Margaret will arrange appointments and help to signpost you to the right person.
Katrina has been with the practice since 2007. Katrina will arrange appointments and help to signpost you to the right person .
Carol has been with the practice since 2015. Carol will arrange appointments and help to signpost you to the right person .
Dispenser/Receptionist Fiona joined the practice in April 2005 through the merger. She previously worked at Dr Mort's surgery since 2000. Her main duties are in the medicines service where she will arrange repeat prescriptions, make up prescriptions for collection, order drugs and keep account of stock levels.

Kerry joined the practice in 2015.  Kerry works in the medicines service, where she takes the responsibility for ordering drugs, keeping account of stock levels, making up prescriptions for collection and arranging repeat prescriptions.
